On 29 September 2026, the first Green Economy Forum was held that brought together businesses, public institutions and other stakeholders, including the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, to discuss emissions-related requirements, implications for competitiveness and practical steps to prepare.
The discussion connected businesses’ compliance challenges with the policy and institutional responses needed to support Kosovo’s green transition.
Three key areas discussed:
1. Regional development and implications of introducing domestic carbon pricing.
2. Opportunities to use available EU support, including the Growth Facility, to advance preparedness and the green transition.
3. Approaches to help Kosovo’s exporters adapt to CBAM and respond to potential changes in trade and competitiveness in their main export markets.
The Green Economy Forum is organized by the Secretariat of the National Council for Economy and Investment (NCEI), with support from the Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo (GPEK) project.
