The Secretariat of the National Council for Economy and Investment (NCEI) organized a focused roundtable discussion on Railway Transport Development, in cooperation with the British Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, and with the valuable participation of the British Embassy in Prishtina and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The session addressed key challenges arising from the limited use of railway transport in Kosovo, including its impact on business competitiveness, logistics efficiency, and overall economic development. Participants also discussed the need for modernization, infrastructure investment, and workforce development in the sector. The forum further benefited from insights on UK best practices related to railway maintenance standards and professional qualifications.
The Secretariat extends its appreciation to all representatives from the private sector, public institutions, and international partners for their constructive engagement. The inputs gathered will help guide the development of structured recommendations within the NCEI’s ongoing dialogue and reform processes.
Further discussions on this topic will continue as part of the NCEI’s public–private dialogue efforts.
