On April 29, we hosted a forum focused on advancing workforce development in Kosovo — one of the main drivers for sustainable economic growth.
The forum brought together representatives from large and small businesses, business chambers, civil society, and public institutions, creating a space for open dialogue and concrete proposals. We reflected on the progress made so far in this area and explored further opportunities to improve the workforce landscape.
Discussions were focused on four key pillars:
• 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝘄 – Adapting the legal framework to better reflect today’s labor market dynamics.
• 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 – Exploring financial stimuli to support private sector employment and skill advancement.
• 𝗗𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 – Incorporating practical learning in high schools to match the offer and demand in the work market more adequately.
• 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – Addressing main issues and identifying ways to retain talent in Kosovo.
Private sector representatives emphasized the importance of being actively involved in future legal reforms to ensure that laws embrace business-friendly policies.
We are committed to continuing the discussion on this important topic!
